With Jamie McQueen driving, and Cammy Alexander, a quick dash down to Manchester and the magnificent Etihad Stadium.
With Jamie being one of those poor souls who have to work for a living, we left Lasswade at 3.30 and arrived in good time just as the drizzle was turning to persistent rain.
For some reason I was allowed in with my foot-long hot dog (£6) but Jamie wasn't, so he had to eat it outside in the rain.
To make his day complete, his team got well beaten. Just before half time I managed to get myself a beer (£4) but missed the first goal.
£53 admission made it a fairly pricey evening out.
Note to Jamie - Whitehill Welfare, admission £5, pie £1.30, pint £2.70 !
