Isle of May 2018

21st June 2018
Recently my trips to the Isle of May aboard the May Princess have become almost an annual event.
This year my good friends Rod and Lizzie were going on the 19th June as they had been given a voucher, so I booked as well and travelled over to Anstruther with them.
However we discovered that Rod & Liz were actually booked onto the RIB and not the May Princess so they had to don waterproofs and get bounced around while mine was a more leisurely experience. I also bumped into Stuart Gillies who runs the excellent Viking Optical shop in Rose Street (blatant plug) so I spent most of the day in his company and he was able to mooch the use of my equipment while dishing out flattering comments about my work. Stuart is an excellent photographer as well as a renowned birder but luckily for me, pretends to worship the ground I walk on.
Here is but a wee sample of what you can see there. I hear a lot of people go to the Farne Islands for their Puffins but can the May really be beaten I ask?
