Bass Rock

22nd July 2010
Tuesday, 20th July, and after watching the weather forecasts avidly for days, I set off with Rod & Liz for the afternoon sailing from Dunbar on the Fisher Lass, for my first visit to the Bass in 30 years (well, not counting a sneaky landing by kayak one Wednesday evening a couple of years ago).
It turned out to be our lucky day, with wall to wall sunshine. Even more so, it was a bit choppy on the way back as the weather began to turn and we learned that Wednesday's trip was cancelled. With half an hour for 'chumming' plus three hours ashore, I managed to get through nearly 350 images. A small selection is HERE.

Photo comment By David Cookson: Hello John, very nice images indeed, being surrounded by so many gannets its not as easy as people might think to get a decent image - well done again.
